Night Out on the Town?

True enough, Zack hadn't been joking about going out. For him it's been a pretty long time so why not go all out? The people that had seemed interested all got a message explaining where they we going to be. Someone that Zack thought could use a little social get together got a message regardless if they answered his call out. He isn't sure who all is going to show, but who cares?

All that matters is that he is here at some bar that Cloud has picked out. Friends will be here too, hopefully. They can cut loose a little and have a good time out tonight. If they manage to have a little too much fun... Well then it makes for some good memories and new stories to be retold. Who knows, maybe someone it won't even be remembered in the morning.

Yuffie hoped down from her seat at the bar and saunters over to Zack. She has a drink in her hand that she brings to her lips for a quick sip before saying hello. Her lips tugged into a smirk. He hasn't even changed a little bit. He's suck a dork.

"What's this? You walk in but you don't even say hi? That's rude Zack."

She'll bide her time for the shin kicking. As Yuffie saw it she had all night and she was planning to time it perfectly.

The sad part was, he really did remember who she was. As if it was so easy to forget!

"I figured, as per usual, you'd just run up to me and save me the trouble!" he grinned. "Glad to see that I was right!"

Although yes, he was a dork. So was this kid, so at least he was in good company.

Yuffie frowned and then kicked him in the shin. She has grown over a foot since she was a young teen stalking the dark haired soldier boy but her final height reached to 5 foot meaning she would always be much shorter than Zack.

“That isn’t how you say hello.” Kicking also wasn’t a good way to say hello but Yuffie clearly didn’t care. “You should be more respectful anyway.”

Talking to Wutai’s princess and defender Zack, so don’t be a butt.

Of course the kick didn't really hurt, now did it? The only reason Zack reacted at all, with a little huff and taking a step back, was to make the kid feel good. It always paid off to be nice.

"Respectful? Do you even know me at all there, kiddo?"

Yes, yes he was purposefully working Yuffie up. It was fine since to him it was all friendly teasing. Or was it?

Yuffie puffed up her cheeks looking more than a little bit upset. "Kiddo? I'm nineteen thank you very much!" She didn't want to get angry but Zack was one of the few people who knew Yuffie when she was a kid and he had this amazing ability to get beneath her skin.

"Which is older than you were when we first met... I think." She really didn't know.

"Why are you so mean? I finally get to see you after-" Yuffie's words cut off and her anger lessened some. Not completely, she was still mad at him but she was also happy to see him again. Cloud was the first person to be Yuffie's friend, Zack was the first person that made Yuffie realize she wanted friends.

Aww now why did you have to go and say that. Sure, Zack did like to rile people up a bit. To him it was all harmless fun. However there was a line that never needed to be crossed. Zack didn't really want to legitimately upset anyone. Thus when he got the sense that Yuffie was actually frustrated and not in the fun way, he stopped.

"Hey... I really don't mean anything by it," he said, putting a hand on the younger girl's shoulder. Hopefully Yuffie was prepared to get pulled into a hug. That was exactly the sort of thing that made everything all better.

Yuffie's mouth had run away from her and while she wasn't necessarily upset she now felt very stupid. She didn't really have time to reply and before she could figure out what was happening Zack was hugging her.

He's... hugging... her...

"Zack? You get brain damage or something? What did I say about not being thirteen." She was a big girl and big girls didn't need hugs... even if they felt good.
