Summer Solstice Fair

The sun is shining, the Mognet is working again, and the summer solstice fair is here! The WRO hopes to makes this an annual thing, but this is the first year they're doing it. Everything you could ever want from a fair is here and open to the public.

*Fair Rides: Ferris wheels, a mini rollercoaster, that thing that looks like an octopus and spins around--the WRO spared no expense to make sure everyone would have fun here today. There's even a gravity ride that takes you up to the top of a pole and then drops you!

*Food: So much food. So much unhealthy food. Funnel cakes, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, you name it. And it's all fairly cheap too, since the WRO promised to pay for half of what the merchants sell!

*Carnival Games: And most of them aren't even rigged! The Gold Saucer donated games for the fair and there are so many games. There's your standard shooting games, some basketball games, a dunk tank, hoop tosses, you name it. A few are rigged, though, so buy beware! There's also a few card tables set up in a tent for those who like their games a little less wild.

*Speed Dating: ...yeah, the WRO has no idea. This came with the Gold Saucer stuff, along with a Cait Sith and Moogle mascot pair that will coax anyone they can into sitting down and participating.

*Job Fair: With the influx of new arrivals, both native and Streamers, some employers see a golden opportunity to get some jobs filled! In one corner of the fair is another, mini-fair fill with tables and presentations on various workplaces: the WRO, ShinRa Tech, the volunteer emergency services of Edge, and the Highwind Air Taxi Service, just to name a few. Anyone of working age is welcome to wander in and have a look around.

Of course, the fair is taking up the entire center of Edge, so there's lots more to see and do!

[Isa rolls his eyes, but lets Lea drag him over to the game booth. Truth be told, he does think the toy is cute, but it's not like he's going to admit that.]

You'll be wasting your money, Lea.

No, I won't. Trust me, we both know I'm great at hoop toss games.

[He's got good aim. He drags Isa over and pays the man for fifteen tries. Each successful hoop tossed will get him five, ten, or twenty prize tokens and the dog is two hundred tokens]

That dog is mine.

It's probably rigged.

[He's such a spoil sport sometimes. Anyway, he stands just enough off to the side to give Lea the space to maybe actually win it.]

What are you going to do with it if you win?

Give it to you.

[Said in the most "duh" tone imaginable as he tosses the first hoop. Twenty!]

What else would I do with it?

You don't have to do that.

[He looks away sheepishly because yes, the plush dog is really cute. And he knows that Lea knows he would never get it for himself. But still! It's not necessary.]

Doing it anyway!

[He grins over at Isa before focusing on the game. He manages to get all ten twenty bottles no problem, which leaves him with the last five hoops to get five tens. He stops to rest his arm a sec.]

Besides, it's your color.

[Isa watches as Lea lands hoop after hoop perfectly. Not that he expected any less of him, but still, a best friend has to heckle, right? It's his duty. Heckling and teasing. Besides, it keeps the attention off himself as he tries to be all cool about this.]

Maybe this game is rigged. No one should win that easy.

Nah, I'm just that good.

[Once more into the fray!...for all of two minutes while Lea aces the game and gets his two hundred and fifty tokens. The game runner gives him an extra hundred and fifty for a perfect game, which Lea hands over to Isa. Lea's tokens are promptly traded for the dog, which he also hands over to Isa with a huge grin on his face.]

[As Lea hands him the tokens, Isa shakes his head, rolls his eyes, and pockets the tokens.]

What am I, your wallet? Thanks.

[He takes the plush dog a little more happily, but he tries to hide it by only giving it a small squeeze and a tiny smile.]

[He sees that smile]

No, they're yours. I can get more at another game if I want, so you can pick something.

[Of course he does.]

Maybe later. I have to lug this thing around all day, I'm not lugging anything else until it's time to go home.

[He acts like it's such a trial to overcome, carrying around a super cute prize.]

Rent a wagon?

[aiza]

That would be more bothersome.

[Isa rolls his eyes and sighs.]

Besides, someone might steal it out of the wagon.

..true. Run it home?

[aiza]

It can wait.

[It seems like a waste of time to leave, even though they don't live very far from here.]
