Summer Solstice Fair

The sun is shining, the Mognet is working again, and the summer solstice fair is here! The WRO hopes to makes this an annual thing, but this is the first year they're doing it. Everything you could ever want from a fair is here and open to the public.

*Fair Rides: Ferris wheels, a mini rollercoaster, that thing that looks like an octopus and spins around--the WRO spared no expense to make sure everyone would have fun here today. There's even a gravity ride that takes you up to the top of a pole and then drops you!

*Food: So much food. So much unhealthy food. Funnel cakes, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, you name it. And it's all fairly cheap too, since the WRO promised to pay for half of what the merchants sell!

*Carnival Games: And most of them aren't even rigged! The Gold Saucer donated games for the fair and there are so many games. There's your standard shooting games, some basketball games, a dunk tank, hoop tosses, you name it. A few are rigged, though, so buy beware! There's also a few card tables set up in a tent for those who like their games a little less wild.

*Speed Dating: ...yeah, the WRO has no idea. This came with the Gold Saucer stuff, along with a Cait Sith and Moogle mascot pair that will coax anyone they can into sitting down and participating.

*Job Fair: With the influx of new arrivals, both native and Streamers, some employers see a golden opportunity to get some jobs filled! In one corner of the fair is another, mini-fair fill with tables and presentations on various workplaces: the WRO, ShinRa Tech, the volunteer emergency services of Edge, and the Highwind Air Taxi Service, just to name a few. Anyone of working age is welcome to wander in and have a look around.

Of course, the fair is taking up the entire center of Edge, so there's lots more to see and do!

[It just rarely occurs to him. It isn't like he leaves his sphere of office-home-occasionally a party often, after all.]

"You don't know until you try! Besides, what I just had is meat! So there's gotta be more around! You're just being... silly!" Keaton huffs, being loud about it now. "We'll be just fine!"

"They might import it, like most of Nohr," he points out. "I trust that we will be fine, but please, Keaton. Don't spend all your gold before we have more coming in."

"I... I wasn't!" He pouts, crossing his arms over his chest. "B... but we should still have good food, right?"

Laslow smiles a little bit. "Some times. But cheap is more important right now, at least until one of us gets a job. I don't think they're hiring soldiers here, sadly." He's probably going to have to resort to dancing for now, since that's his only other skill, really, and dance tends to transcend worlds and cultures.

[werehusband]

"We have a lotta money though! So we can get some food! Besides, it's cheap! I didn't pay that much." However, this is Keaton who has no concept of money besides bartering.

For a minute, Riku thinks he might be hallucinating too. Maybe he was still suffering from some of the Mako poisoning or maybe there was something wrong with him.

But when he passes by a booth that has a rabbit on the counter throwing darts, he has to stop and watch. Although watching is more like staring at this point. It's rude, and he understands how annoying as hell it is because he hates it, but...

But he's fascinated. Maybe she's another experiment? Or just some poor soul pulled through the Lifestream too. Whatever she is she's adorable as fuck... she's really good at throwing darts.]

And Laslow knows that very well. "How much do you have left? They gave us three thousand...whatever their money is." Some of it had been paper, which was confusing.

"Well, uh..." He pulls out his little bag, pulling out some collectables before pulling out the paper. "Uh.... hm..." He looks at it, narrowing his eyes. "A... lot!"

No, just fried dough. She should be okay.

Laslow takes the wallet, doing a quick count. He didn't know exactly how the money here worked, but he could get a guess. "...okay. Try not to spend too much though, alright?"

[werehusband]

"I wasn't! Jeeze, it's like you don't even trust me!" Keaton shakes his head. "I just wanted food..."

"I trust you. It's the other people I don't trust. They might try to take advantage of you."

[werehusband]

"...Why would people do that? I'm really nice! ...But also scary!"

[He gives Iseul permission in Wutaian and she goes the last little bit to gingerly take the cake from Riku's hand]

She's braver than her sister. Or perhaps more fond of food.

"Because they're not nice and don't care how nice or scary you are." Sometimes, Laslow misses Yarne and his paranoia...and then he remembers how annoying it got after a while and he stops missing the paranoia. "They just want money."

[werehusband]

"If they try, I'll bite them!" Keaton says it loud, like he says everything else. So enjoy that, Laslow.

People turn to look at Keaton while Laslow barely manages not to facepalm. "Keaton...humans don't appreciate that, you know. It could land you in prison."

That's a definite difference between them. Riku's never acted like the man he's based on.

The question automatically gets his attention even though he doesn't seem to react right away. Handing the gun back to the attendant (because he doesn't want to face someone and be seen as a threat while armed), he turns around and blinks.

Dark suit. Lots of red hair and attitude. Reno of the Turks, and that makes Riku breathe a small sigh through his nose.

"...Your boss or colleague could tell you if ask them."

He's got no reason to hide, but this is supposed to be a fun place and Riku doesn't want to ruin it anymore than he already might.

"Then they shouldn't take advantage of me!" Keaton was firm, no matter how many people looked at them.

...they will finish that conversation later. Laslow just sighs. "Still, don't spend all or even most of what you have, please? For my sake."

"Oh yeah, I remember a lot of Green." said Mogleo thoughtfully. "I guess that's something our two worlds have in common."

"You have a Lifestream too?" Then again, if the Lifestream here could pull people from other places, those places must have a Lifestream too...

"I said I wasn't!" Keaton shakes his head and huffs. "I won't spend anymore!"

"Alright, alright, calm down!" He glances around. People are still staring. "Please?"
