Mentally exhausting yourself if you didn't have access to ethers is, of course, not good, but all you need to fix that is rest or use the boost an ether gives, so Cloud wondered if these GFs were much worse than just casting magic with materia.
Cloud's also catching on to what Laguna's doing and just standing still doing nothing while the other works doesn't feel right, so he quickly starts to help as well.
Luckily there's not a lot to clear off, but Cloud can't resist walking over to the cold spot of melting ice on the wall and lean close.
